McCannon "Mox" Cassidy was born and raised in Bermuda. He began singing at an early age and was introduced to reggae music at age 10. He started to collect and borrow "session tapes" and by 16 was collecting records and was in a sound called Deathrow owned by his cousin One Draw. Mox says, "Music was always my passion but it is very hard to make a career out of it in Bermuda." At 22 he decided to go to music school in Toronto. He graduated and received a producing and engineering diploma. With his new knowledge he started to write and record his own music. At this time he started working for a band called "The Home Grown Band" as their sound guy. He did that for 2 years and then was asked by the band to be their front man. Mox was born and it is all history now. He has opened for Beres Hammond, UB40, Jah Cure, Morgan Heritage, Barrington Levy, Tarus Reilly, Demarco, Gentleman, Chuck Fender, Junior X, Turbulence, Rick Ross, Trina, Genuwine, Shaggy, & Bascom X, as well as Grammy award winning R&B artists India Arie, Anthony Hamilton, & Charlie Wilson of the Gap Band. He has also performed with local artists like Troy Anthony, Collie Buddz, C'Daynga, Roachkilla, Stevie Dread & Toro, Allie, Flookie, Corvin Melody, Ninja Cutty, Sweet Sess, Twanee Butterfield, Fire Kid, Raymon Clarke, and Carly Don.
