Zenji San's musical introduction began at a tender age with clarinet, saxophone and piano, playing in his high school band. He was in various solo and group performances playing saxophone during this time, performing for the Premiere of Bermuda and for the Jackson School of Performing Arts annual recitals. Once in college he sang in a five part harmony group called W.O.C. (World of Culture) who performed all over South Florida, performing the US National Anthem for a Pauly Shore and David Allen Grier comedy show, covers and original material for various events, appearing on Florida news and in a live commercial for Coors Light which aired on BET through Mandana Entertainment.
After returning home from college he pursued his musical interests on a solo level recording songs and performing at events, including opening for the all female reggae sound system Hemo & MooFire and Reggae Dancehall Queen Junko from Japan, promoted by Meridian Entertainment. Zenji San has also performed with local bands such as Jahstice and touring cover band Left Lucy, and more recently opening for Allaine, Gyptian and Buju Banton at Culture Shock 2007 at Somerset Cricket Club Bermuda and for Tokyo/Jamaica based female sound system Baddy 45 at the Devonshire Recreational Club June 2008, and for Tony Matterhorn and Mavado at Snorkel Park Bermuda 2009, and in 2010 performed at various New York City venues with charitable arts foundation Chewstick. Zenji San looks to hit more stage shows and take his music to the world.
